As the exam season approaches, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with students in a unique and heartfelt interaction at Delhi’s Sunder Nursery, ahead of the 8th edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha.’ In a lighthearted and relaxed atmosphere, PM Modi addressed students’ concerns about exams, stress, and anxiety, offering valuable insights with humor and encouragement.
In a video shared by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi opened up about his own school experiences, humorously recalling his struggles with handwriting. “When I was in school, my teachers made a lot of effort to help me improve my handwriting. Their handwriting skills may have flourished, but mine didn’t,” he shared, evoking laughter from the students.
The students present were thrilled to meet the Prime Minister, with one remarking, “It didn’t feel like we were talking to the Prime Minister, he was just like a friend.” Students from across India, including Kerala, Punjab, Bihar, and Tripura, were part of the gathering. One student expressed his excitement, saying he came to share his “Dil Ki Baat,” to which PM Modi humorously replied, “I do Mann Ki Baat, you can do your Dil Ki Baat.”
PM Modi also shared valuable advice with the students, focusing on creating a stress-free environment for exams. He encouraged them to embrace exams as an opportunity for learning rather than a source of anxiety.
The 8th edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ will take place on February 10, 2025, at 11 am. This year’s event will feature a new format, with several prominent personalities joining to empower students ahead of their board exams. Personalities such as Deepika Padukone, Mary Kom, Avani Lekhara, Rujuta Divekar, Sonali Sabharwal, Vikrant Massey, Bhumi Pednekar, Technical Guruji, and Radhika Gupta will participate in the event.
Organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy, the interactive session will be held in a town hall format at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Since its inception in 2018, ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ has grown into a nationwide movement, with the 8th edition receiving a record 3.56 crore registrations, marking a significant rise from the previous year’s 2.26 crore.
The program, which aims to alleviate exam stress and promote holistic education, has become a “Jan Andolan” (people’s movement), resonating deeply with students, teachers, and parents across the country. It encourages students to view exams as a celebration of learning—a festival, or “Utsav.”
This year, a series of activities were held from January 12 to January 25, 2025, engaging 1.42 crore students, 12.81 lakh teachers, and 2.94 lakh schools in celebrating the spirit of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha.’ Activities included traditional games like Kho-Kho and Kabaddi, short marathons, creative meme competitions, Nukkad Natak performances, yoga, meditation, and workshops to help reduce stress and improve focus.
The program’s success is a reflection of growing awareness about the importance of mental well-being in education, and the interactive format continues to be a powerful platform for open dialogue between students, teachers, and the Prime Minister.
Since its first edition, ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ has become a significant event, offering practical tips and emotional support to students as they prepare for their exams.
